If you ever change your any or something, the sig disappears.
Solution: Just click on someone else's sig to be taken to the FAN website. There, save your sig again, and when you get to the screen that gives you the choice to "embed," click it.
Now you are done As soon as you check the forums, your missing fan of the year sig has magically returned

When I started this semester, I removed my sig (except for the Fan Of The Year Season 15 Thingy), and yes, I had to re-embed my FOTY-15 sig. So now, with no sig to begin with created by me in the profile section, I have had to re-embed my FOTY-15 Sig with each Avy change (from Genius Bar to Cartman Burger; and from Cartman Burger to the current Border Patrol Cartman). Hmmmm..... Every time my FOTY-15 disappeared with an any change
But re-embeding them brought it back.
