Whats the most stupid religion in your opinion? I'm refering mostly to cult religions..

The most stupidest religion is the religion that looks at other religions and calls them stupid. That's what breeds hate and intolerance. Whatever anyone believes, that's fine with me. As long as they don't try and kill me or rob me.

Hate is not an option. What's stupid for one is gospel for another. And by classifying it here in this thread or anywhere else is imo the stupid part.

All religions and anti-religions are stupid, because all of them have their share of assh*les and hypocrits to make them look bad. It sucks, but once someone has a bunch of negative experiences with people of a certain group, most of the time, they lump everyone in that group in with the assh*les.

I will agree with Z and Moon. But if you want me to be completely honest...the stupidest religions are the Abrahamic ones. They have by far the most adherants, and unlike Eastern religions, they tend to get mixed into politics - a place religion should never, ever be. Depends on your definition of "stupid", though.

In practice, what you refer to as "cults" are no better. They're full of people I view as deranged and demented lunatics. But where's the line between "cult" and "religion" anyway? Just the number of adherants? That's not enough. Looking at the big picture, cults and religions are the same thing to me.

Every religion has smart and stupid people. But in the grand scheme of things, the biggest artificial threats to humanity are the Abrahamic religions. They discourage freedom of thought and force you to believe what you can not prove, and what it boils down to in the end is millions of people who claim to follow the same religion but have very different beliefs and views.

I agree with all of you, I do... Maybe I phrased the question badly. But I kinda need to know about some of the more 'farfetched' religions or cults. It's for a presentation.

Scientology. Enough said. Even though it's not an Abrahamic religion.

Mormonism is pretty bad, too. Their stereotypical overly-polite personalities and professional dress code, minus the magic underwear, are pretty much recruiting tools implemented to disguse the group's contempt for homosexuals, coffee, liquor, masturbation, and until 1978, black people.

Yeah, doing research on google is a better idea. People on here criticize religion, but I doubt if they know much about religions besides Christianity, or at least that is the impression I get from reading their posts. I know a little about lesser known religions, but not very much about the kind of smaller cults that are into really wierd sh*t, I assume that is what you want to know about, right?
