As everyone disagrees on what it means to live a 'worthwhile' life, it doesn't mean much to say life is wasted, unless you say what you mean by wasted.

Quote:
not focusing on the things other people do you consider f*cked up all the time.

Says the person who's always focusing on the things other people do that she considers f*cked up.
Like disagreeing with people on the internet.
By disagreeing with them on the internet.
Makes sense?

My, my..will you look at all the brooding existentialism in this thread...and at Christmas time. :santa:

You f*ckers ought to be ashamed of yourselves - the damn lot of you. Nah, I'm just fooling around.

The thing about life is that you generally find what you're looking for because your perception at any given moment is limited to what you pay attention to on a regular basis, and what you are specifically focused on.

You can't be grateful for life and dismayed by how messed up the world is at the same time. There are reasons to hate life, but there are also reasons to love life.

The news media has trained us to look at all the shittiness of the world on a daily basis. That's all it is, one sh*tty event after another. And we call it "being informed."

I contend that if we want to lead happier lives, we need to turn our focus on what's NOT f*cked up about the world and get used to noticing what's right by continuously looking for it.

Easier said than done, of course.

My 10 year old nephew is about this depressingly existential :I
He'll be insanely depressed when he's our age D=

I don't consider anything waste; becoming the president or alling people gay on X-Box live, inventing the cure for cancer or getting wasted, getting married or fapping to net porn? Is either one any more "useful" or "Important" than the other?
Just do what you want. If other people get mad enough that it's not easy to do, do something else that they're OK with.
Epicurus is my homie :I

I'm just pointing out this idea (like everything else) has been thought of already, criticized and defended to death.
AND BY THE WAY, I WIN
