Yes it's that time of the year again. So what were in your opinion moments that defined this year?

For me they are in no particular order:
- end of SOPA and ACTA,
- discovery of Higgs boson
- end of Encyclopaedia Britannica's print editions
- landing of Curiosity
- Obama's reelection
- Felix Baumgartner's jump
- imprisonment of Pussy Riot
- hurricane Sandy
- Newtown school shooting
...

You pretty much covered it. I can't really think of anything to add other than maybe John McAfee being wanted for murder in Belize. Also, people making an issue out of the Mayan Calendar ending.
