so here's the deal- going on a road trip soon with friends and they put me in charge of making the music.

i'm already flipping through my music collection and plan to inflict some musical damage on my friends (incoming rickrolling! LOL), but welcome any and all suggestions because it's a 6 hour trip.

and since i love my friends so much, i'm inflicting the macarena on them as well.

If I may, the version sung by Tay Zonday is so memetic meta that it's kind of epic.
On similar topic, I have a pretty sizable playlist of cover songs that I would probably be playing on a road trip. I kind of love covers.
I get the impression you're hoping to annoy peoples a bit. Of course, I think the Macarena is super fun times. Formative years can do funny things to a person.

I'm always up for some Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers whenever I'm on the road. That guy seems to have a knack for traveling tunes.

That depends on what kind of music you like. If you like prog rock, get some Liquid Tension Experiment or Rush. Of course, if you have a smart phone, you can download Pandora and listen to it through your car's stereo system.

As for inflicting musical damage, you can never go wrong with Nipplecrack (Nickelback), the Black Eyed Peas, will.i.am, Fergie, Britney Spears, Celine Dion, Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj, and the like. I don't like those so-called "musicians" at all. Their work isn't what I would call real music.

Buy Thick as a Brick by Jethro Tull. The album is made up of the title track...and nothing else. It's almost forty-four minutes long.

in addition to the suggestions provided here, i got a few more from other friends and have been told i will never be put in charge of music ever again.

although i think that had something to do with a tire blowing when funky cold medina came on.......
