Certainly. It's not imperialistic to expand the nation's boarders. Sadly there are a lot of territories that should've been admitted a century ago that still haven't been. The US would be better stopping the chaos at it's boarder than that in Iraq or Afghanistan. I wish this had happened after the Spanish American war.

Let's make PR and VI and such states before we expand into sovereign nations by force.
I have been here since January 2005 with another name. I have seniority. (.__. )

And finish what we started in the 1800's? The US wound up with a lot of territory that was originally part of Mexico. You might recognize it as everything between Texas and California. Some of it was even acquired fairly.

The Drug War already interferes with Mexico's internal politics, so it's not that much of a stretch.

The US has got so hung up on it's 50 year old flag that it won't even accept colonies that want to be a formal part of the American empire not just 'territories.' Hawaii and other states were taken by force I don't see this being out of the question legally but at the present, I don't see it being politically possible.

That said, I can't see it breaking Mexico anymore than the Drug War already broke it and If the US is gonna play world police around the globe it might as well play it on it's doorstep. It might stop the immigrants rushing north, if the country wasn't collapsing on them!

Anyone want the US to follow it's manifest destinity north, complete what they started in 1812 and liberate Canada from it's evil socialist healthcare system and slay the polar bears? That's just as likely to happen as the US taking Mexico sadly enough :U

Anything that brings a country into the second greatest nation on earth can't be bad :I

Wouldn't it make more sense for Mexico to clean up its own political mess?

We can get the polar bears from here. All we have to do is drive. If we build the Keystone Pipeline, then we'll be using Canada's own oil against them.
