No, I like the first one though. I'm super exited for the Stick of Truth. I think that's where some of the Mojo of season 17 went. You people understand this...right?

What target audience ?? south park's only target is to be funny and clever.. and Season 17 seems to be losing its spark.

>Rough translation: Basically they stopped advertising their media to you because they're running out of interest from people that are like you.

I don't get it what advertising ?

......a bit of a mixed bag for me. One great episode, a very good one, one subpar, and a real stinker. This is how I rank them.

Let Go, Let Gov: 5/10
Informative Murder Porn: 9/10
World War Zimmerman: 3/10
Goth Kids 3: Dawn of the Posers: 8/10

New Intro: 10/10

Many people on Facebook are so immensely disappointed with season 17. Whatevah.

By far the funniest scene is the customer service cable guys in "Informative Murder Porn"!

I've been a dedicated SP fan for a long time. I've seen every ep at least twice and appreciate episodes I've seen others bash on like the FunnyBot episode, which I really enjoy. There are good episodes and bad ones that I move past but this last episode was so bad I feel I actually need to post about it. 'Informative Murder Porn' was pretty good in satire, but Goth 3 was absolutely horrendous.

Making fun of emo kids? South Park usually is ahead of the curve in adding pop culture expressions like Gay Fish, gingervitis etc., so how are you ten years late that you're now making fun of emo kids when YTMND, youtube vids, memes etc. have beaten that horse to death years ago? It would be like making fun of boy bands it's so played out. Is emo even a thing anymore? Do kids still listen to My Chemical Romance and Stabby Rip Stab Stab bands? You made a good statement with "Informative..." and then this one which seems to come from a place of complete obliviousness.

Obviously SP makes fun of everyone and it's no secret that emo/goth/whatever idolize Poe because he was one of the pioneers of Gothic Literature, but making him Goth was pointless. It would have been better South Park satire to point out how his life actually was very tragic, he suffered from real depression and substance abuse and that he still accomplished a lot and helped define a genre without hiding in his room all day whining like some privileged little bitch drama queen like most emo/goth kids. He still put on a normal suit and went into the military, had a literary criticism job and worked within the system like a "normal" person regardless of his very serious problems. I don't mind SP making fun of anyone, but this one was just a wasted opportunity and seemed like a lazy cop out.

I hope this isn't a sign you guys are falling off your game because I'd hate to see SP lull into years of mediocrity like the Simpsons.

Yeah, South Park has certainly never made fun of boy bands Image

I thought Goth Kids 3 was pretty damn funny. I actually laughed hard enough to tip over on the couch. I guess there are some jokes that will just never be outdated, in my eyes. The goth kids will always be funny because I've known those people. I've known emo kids, too. AND I've known people who had stereotypically "emo" behavior, and claimed to be goths. Seeing them being poked fun at in that very particular South Park way just makes me happy in my heart.

You mean, like F*ngerbang? LOL, yeah, they already did that. :D

But yeah, a few other people wondered why they didn't make fun of Emos back in 2003, when Raisins came out and Goth/Emo culture was still fresh, or in 2008, when there was a quick comeback. We don't know why.

My point was about if they did an episode about boy bands right now in 2013. Fingerbang was aired in 2000 when boy bands were still big and selling albums. If Kyle had simply said "Don't be emo" to someone that's something that's an expression that we've all used by now because making of emos became common pop culture years ago. Doing a whole episode making fun of emos in 2013? It shows being pretty out of touch which is odd as they just did an episode about minecraft which is currently "relevant". I made fun of emos in my younger years 10 years ago. What they did with this ep at age 40 would be the equivalent of, I dunno, me saying "Hey, because, doing the dougie is laaaaame" and then everyone looking at me and saying "The dougie? That went out awhile ago its all about the twerk (or whatever the f*ck is in now)" It just came across as sad.

If you're going to "go for it" and make fun of " younger people's" culture from a younger person's perspective, at least do it accurately and not like a 50 year old guy in skinny jeans.

"This is the WORST season ever."

I am feeling your pain kmal2t. I thought because the last season was bad, that is why they were taking more time to make it better again, but now I have no idea what they are trying to do.

Just a suggestion:
I do not want SP to fail, so I believe it is time to hand down the torch to some of the very best fans who can make a comeback. It is very sad for me to say, but I don't care if Matt and Trey have to be kicked out of the studio. Long live SP.

Shut up, dude.

What is it with you people bitching every time the South Park C-R-E-A-T-O-R-S dare to step out of what YOU think is the box they should be in? This has been happening since Not Without My Anus, it's not exactly new for people to whine that the show isn't what it used to be or isn't what it "should" be. Get the f*ck over yourselves.

I am loving this season so far. (But then, I like way more episodes than I don't like, throughout the entire run of the show. I can count the episodes I hate on one hand.)
HEAR THAT, FEEDBACK TEAM?? NOT ALL OF THE FANS ARE WHINERS WHO ARE NEVER HAPPY UNLESS EVERY EPISODE IS THE SAME! I LIKED IT!

Not gonna happen. This is Trey's life work. if he goes, the show goes too. We'll see what he decides in three years.

I'm not too surprised many fans are disappointed with season 17 so far. Last season was not all that wonderful, either. Only a couple of outstanding episodes - "Butterballs" and "Insecurity", with a couple of very good ones and a lot of mediocre and bad ones.

However, do not give up on this season! Maybe T&M will up their game and finish strong like they did during season 15B.
