Mother don't worry, I killed the last snake that lived in the creek bed
Mother don't worry, I've got some money I saved for the weekend
Mother remember being so stern with that girl who was with me?
Mother remember the blink of an eye when I breathed through your body?

So may the sunrise bring hope where it once was forgotten
Sons are like birds, flying upward over the mountain

Mother I made it up from the bruise on the floor of this prison
Mother I lost it, all of the fear of the Lord I was given
Mother forget me now that the creek drank the cradle you sang to
Mother forgive me, I sold your car for the shoes that I gave you

So may the sunrise bring hope where it once was forgotten
Sons could be birds, taken broken up to the mountain

Mother don't worry, I've got a coat and some friends on the corner
Mother don't worry, she's got a garden we're planting together
Mother remember the night that the dog had her pups in the pantry?
Blood on the floor, fleas on their paws,
And you cried 'til the morning

So may the sunrise bring hope where it once was forgotten
Sons are like birds, flying always over the mountain

Who's seen Jezebel?
She was born to be the woman I would know
And hold like a breeze half as tight as both eyes closed

Who's seen Jezebel?
She went walking where the cedars line the road
Her blouse on the ground where the dogs were hungry, roaming

Saying, "Wait
We swear we'll love you more
And wholly, Jezebel
It's we, we that you are for only"

Who's seen Jezebel?
She was born to be the woman we could blame
Make me a beast half as brave and be the same

Who's seen Jezebel?
She was gone before I ever got to say
"Lay here, my love, you're the only shape I pray to, Jezebel"

Who's seen Jezebel?
Will the mountain last as long as I can wait?
Wait like the dawn, how it aches to meet the day

Who's seen Jezebel?
She was certainly the spark for all I've done
The window was wide, she could see the dogs come runnin'

Saying, "Wait
We swear we'll love you more
And wholly, Jezebel
It's we, we that you are for only"

Oh, the black-haired stranger rode into town,
his guns were tied down. He rode a tall, black stallion
fourteen hands high, with a shaggy mane
the week he died.
He rode up to the ol' Dust Saloon
"Where's Lightnin' Sam?" "He's in the back room"
You better run, Sam, you better run
he's got 21 notches on his gun.
"There's a time to run, a time to stand,
I can't beat him, I'll die like a man, die like a man, die like a man."
Oh, the sun was high
and the wells were dry
and the hungry birds looked down from the sky.
And the rattlesnake was comin' out of that red hot desert ground
Was a holiday in hell, that main Texas town.
The outlaw calls from the street,
and the fastest gun alive,
Sam I've got you be
Then I heard a shotgun rolling,
the lightning sound comes through the saloon doors
He said "I had to get my silver shells,
that thing wasn't a man, that was a devil right out of hell."
He reached up and he took his badge off his chest
He said "Son, you're the sheriff now,
you're awful young, I hope you stand the test
cause I'm gonna hit the trail,
I can't keep demons and devils locked in no jail"
So Old Sam he headed out across the desert.
He didn't have no water for his canteen,
leading that sack of bones he called a horse.
Two and a half years later during the rainy season
we had water in the well, I though I'd try to cross the desert,
maybe I'd find me a gal.
I was about three days and a half out in that barren waste
when I saw something laying by a mesquite bush.
I looked and it was Sam's old shotgun.
Nearby lay his old saddle, what the varmints hadn't eaten
Well I says "I'll be darned, Sam didn't kill that devil,
he tricked him into trying to cross that desert with no water for his canteen
leading that sack of bones he called a horse."
And it seemed that I could hear a voice
"He died like a man, he died like a man, he died like a man"

(this song was randomly playing on radio in the car, while I was eating some good ol' cheese pizza at 1:30 a.m.)

This should be anthem of trans men:

The Who - I'm a Boy

It's interesting to listen to oldies with headphones. On this tune, all vocals are positioned left, and bass is right. Completely different than today's standards, where lead vocal and bass are centre and backing vocals can be positioned slightly to one side. Also, back then, a track couldn't be positioned slightly to a side. There was no panorama on mixing consoles, just left, right or centre.

Yes! I found it!

Morre - Renegades

I've watched them live few years ago. I completely forgot their name, I just remembered they're from Montreal. Then I remembered I posted the song here, and after few minutes of searching, I found it. :D

EDIT I even found pictures from that concert. I'm in one of them. I look a bit chubby.
