I was wondering the same thing. This site and the FB page didn't upload pics from the contest. Maybe none were taken?

I wasn't there for the costume contest. The event lasted Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, but I had to leave first thing Saturday morning long before the venue opened back up for the day (I was traveling 500 miles by train and bus). But, I didn't see a whole lot of South Park cosplayers. A few, but not a lot. The ones that seemed to be the most popular were four girls who dressed up as each of the boys (funny though the girl who played Cartman wasn't fat, she was the only one eating whenever I saw them, usually a sandwich). I had taken their photo:



Like everything else there, the bus behind them was also free. It drove around Downtown San Diego's busy Gaslamp district, picking people up and bringing them back to the event. I rode it once just to get out of the heat, since it had air conditioning, but it was completely jam packed with people who cheered and chanted "South Park!" out the windows at onlookers. I took a video for the hell of it. Everything was MUCH louder than in the video. It was almost deafening.

You should have seen those four race eachother on the big-wheel tricycles. It was hilarious. Cartman kept trying to run Kyle off the track.

At one point, next to the Town Hall, Kenny suddenly dropped to the ground. The person playing Stan shouted the appropriate line, followed by 'Kyle's "You Bastards!" before they just walked away leaving Kenny there. Pretty funny stuff. I like how they stayed in character.

Y'know, I don't remember reading anything in any of the press releases about when the poofs would be available at Wal Mart. And I've been to the one where I am now about a dozen times this week, and haven't even thought of looking to see.

Towelie won the costume contest right? Looks like the whole thing was a blast. Yes, cutesie, almost Disneyland like, but can't please everyone.

I have a Q- It was free this year right? Will it be free next year too? I just might have to forsake my Winter trip for a Summer trip instead. Hm. (I know, it's a bit lame to spend a ton of money on a trip and then ask if the event is free. But it doesn't hurt to ask)
