I got Dad a couple of Who's Line' uncensored DVDs, a bluray copy of beasts of the southern wild, a bluray player, and the piece of resistance: a vinyl copy of Nelson Riddle's Route 66 and other themes, just like the one he had in San Antonio! :D

MSNBC invited a member of the Cato institute on to discuss drone strikes. I think hell froze over.

The people who wrote the book that discredited Chamberlain as the "appeaser of Hitler" had the pseudonym Cato. Even though things are more complicated than that he pretty much deserves the assessment.

The debate over drones seems arguing over minutia. I'm opposed to the offensive wars we're involved in but don't really care about the tactics. Soldiers kill civilians too - at least drones don't get PTSD and go on killing sprees at home, it annoys me when people use the fact that it isn't mentally scarring our boys for life as a reason it's bad.
Love when people take one or two bad things a president does as proof he's bad without considering; the good policies they have: the alternatives available to them: what their realistic opponents would do: the likely results of the policies of their unrealistic opponents.
People attack many things based on 'it has this good trait' or 'it has this bad trait' (from chemotherapy, vaccines and GM food to technology, states and banks) without comparing it to the alternatives. It's like saying "X is tall!" or "X is hot!" without any standard of measurement - what is it hot compared to, celcius or farenheit, tall compared to, an ant or Jupiter?

EEdit: Bigger Win: The Canterville Ghost (1986 with Alyssa Milano) is on FearNet. I loved this version of it when I was a kid. I wore out a TV recorded tape of it in no time.
