South Park lost a 1998 Emmy to the Simpsons. Then, in 2000, the same thing happened. In 2001, South Park wasn't nominated, but the Simpsons again got the Emmy. Finally, South Park's "Osama Bin Laden Has Farty Pants" lost to Futurama's "Roswell That Ends Well" sometime in 2002.
The Simpsons Already Did It aired on June 26 of 2002.

Probably not as much as you think. As I remember from the commentary, it seemed like every time they would come up with a great "original" idea for an episode, The Simpsons had already done it.

Yeah Matt and Trey have said that they really respect the Simpsons. (They sure like it more than Family Guy)
The simpsons have done everything, so coming up with original ideas can be pretty frusterating for SP sometimes.
