This episode signified the death of funny Eric Cartman. He has been rarely funny ever since this episode (except in various parts of s10/11). Funny how that worked out, eh?

There's a certain resemblance, but it's much more akin to Once Upon a Scoundrel and a Twilight Zone episode called The Hunt.
