Stan is embarrassed in front of his friends when his dad gets pulled over for drunk driving. In a neighboring town, a bleeding statue of Mary is discovered and the faithful are flocking to the site hoping to be healed. Stan's dad is sure the bleeding Virgin can cure him of his "disease."

Yeah,that was cool.I thought that this alien would have something to do with the bleeding statue,but...

I could have done without the "bleeding out her ass" bit... otherwise, it was good except maybe for the continual preaching.

One of my personal favorites. Lets just say I have some experience with AA, and I absolutely LOVED the line about "Cults". I'm sure AA has helped millions, but some of those people get way too deep into it. Did you guys do some sort of research for this or did you just draw this conclusion up on your own?

Maybe i'm taking this too far, but thought a menstruating statue of the virgin Mary was really interesting. a bleeding statue would clearly be a miracle, but the church doesn't want to recognise it, because it would mean taking away one of the things their institution uses to castigate women (that having your period makes you unclean/profane). the episode takes mensturation out of the realm of the profane, and suggests it could be something sacred........ ?

I was watching some story board thing there, and the voiceover said people had to spot aliens as part of a competition to win some dvds.

I think I've only seen this episode once, so I don't remember much, just that the Virgin Mary's blood was from her period... I'm a Catholic and a Virgin Mary devote, so I can say, to me, the episode was a little offensive, but I understand SP makes fun of everyone, so I can live with it . And here in Latin America the Virgin gets sometimes more praise than Jesus.

What I've always wondered about SP is why the creators chose them to be Catholic and not Protestants as the majority of Americans, it's a little odd, IMO.
