It was...okay, I guess. I really hate that narrator voice.

Well... what to say about that one? I'm not sure I laughed at all during that one. It fell especially flat after last week's excellent episode. It seemed like Matt and/or Trey took a vacation to Hawaii, found the "locals" obnoxious, and decided to make an episode about them.

Anyway, stoked to see we get a Halloween episode next week. They've had an excellent track record with those in the past!

I'll let the mods move my act-by-act comments here, but suffice to say I was a little disappointed this week. Been a while since I've encountered a weak episode in the middle of a run. Those usually happen at the very start or the very end of a run for me.

Oh well, Halloween eppy next week! Now that has potential.

What was that? I expected more interaction between Kenny and Butters. I was trying to figure out if this had any reference to something in real life. Maybe Obama? I'm not sure

8.5/10
Pretty funny one in my opinion. I was expecting Kenny to die the entire second half, but he proved us wrong and became a "native" with a little help from the King himself, Elvis Presley. I also find it quite crazy that Butters' anger was caused solely by Ben Affleck and the fact that the discontinuation of a rewards card led to war between Hawaii and the mainland. I can't wait for next week's Halloween epic! Until then, bring on the chi-chi's!

That episode was crazy! But good. I was expecting something different.

I can't believe Butters was so ticked off over Ben Affleck. XD

Next episode is the Halloween one we've been waiting for!

Stan was still Captain America via FaceTime, right?

That episode was meh. Least favorite of the season. Very excited for the Halloween episode though! Interesting it is airing a week before Halloween. I wonder if this could setup a two part episode that concludes on Halloween??? Also, Butters and Cartman are approaching overkill this season. Please I hope for a well balanced episode with all the boys next week and then a freakin Stan episode already! He has had like 5 lines this whole fall season.

Is it just me, or did this episode at least borrow some aspects from "Amok Time" from Star Trek TOS?

I did like the episode though. I liked ripping on the people who think they own Hawaii because they have a timeshare. Kenny getting some airtime is always awesome too

God, I hate people who think Cartman needs more episodes. He needs more episodes like he needs more cake: not at all! If they think he's that important why don't they just ask for the show to be renamed the Eric FUCKING Cartman Show? I'm sorry, but these kinds of people piss me off unbelievably.

Uneventful. Not the worst, but far from the best. Seriously, they have a great chance to develop Kenny a bit, and they barely even give him lines. Just a bunch of unfunny haole jokes.

FTR, haoles are what Hawaiians call mainlanders or foreigners; specifically white people, for anyone who hasn't guessed.

Totally borrowed many elements from Amok Time, Star Trek TOS S02E01, episode #30, production #34.

Absolutely correct, InfectedStyles :)

M&T went back to their roots of the early seasons of SP, and borrowed a Star Trek theme and made an entire SP episode based on elements of that Star Trek episode.

For me, Season 16B started tonight. Butters AND Kenny! And bringing in the boys via letters in a voice that didn't sound like Kenny in "The Jeffersons" or as Mysterion. This was a great episode. 10/10

I didn't really see many elements of "Amok Time" besides the very stripped-down idea of 'it's a special time so go back to the homeworld.'

Anyway, it's an okay episode. I dislike 'native' themes but I guess I should have expected them. We got to see Elvis Presley a bit. I don't understand at all why Butters suddenly hates everyone else but still likes Kenny in the process of it - but I'm sure the Bunny fans can answer that for me. Kenny's letters were more awkward than funny.

Not a bad episode, but it didn't really feel good either. Just okay. Square in the middle.

Do Matt and Trey have a personal beef with Ben Affleck or something? They've taken quite a few hits on him over the years.
I don't have any petty self-centered sh*t to link to right now :o
