First part was good. Then it turned to... :parishilton:
It would be a decent episode if Kyle loving Cartman's farts wasn't 90% of it.
I get the metaphor, but I would liked it better if Kyle kicked fatboy's ass at the end. There should be an episode where Cartman confesses his love to Kyle and Kyle totally humiliates him in front of the whole school. Or the world.
Oh, and Van Halen was epic! Especially montage of documentary footages.

Poor Kyle...sacrificed his dignity and self-respect all for nothing it turns out. :(

The plot is undeniably good, but as a fan of Kyle and the morality he stands for, it was just unbearable to watch.

Not sure why M&T is suddenly letting the Fatass get away with all the crap he's pulling with no repercussions to himself whatsoever. Booing Wendy, shooting Token, and now trapping Kyle into being a slave for his grotesque fantasies. It just gets worse and worse. He better get his sorry ass served on a platter for the season finale.

Favorite Characters: KYLE -- STAN -- WENDY -- BUTTERS
Favorite Character to hate: C A R T M A N !!!

Favorite Episode: THE LIST

Maybe it's because you're 13 or American, in which case the joke is on me but i suspect otherwise and that is tragically, hilariously depressing.

What jokes do you need insight on?

Extremely funny, a 9/10 easily.

Kyle back to being a martyr - although this time he almost ended up jacking it in San Diego. Loved the shaved head, it reminded me of the David Blaine cult.

The Van Halen scenes were about as good as any South Park scenes ever made. Show's still got it.

I personally loved this episode, now "Informative Murder Porn" and this episode are tied for my favorite for the season, although the former and last week's episode made me laugh more. 9/10
I disagree that the 1st act was the best, I really loved the 2nd and the beginning of the 3rd. However, I wished that maybe war could've been restored in a different way. Maybe with an actual fight scene or that the prophecy wasn't waiting for a [insert overused joke here].
As a big Kyle fan, I did like his role in the episode, douchiness and all. As for Stan as my 2nd favorite, the part with him telling the news was my least favorite scene.
But that shouldn't discount from my view of the episode though, because I am a little too emotional about tv shows in the sense that when I fear something really bad happens, I fast forward if it's not too integral to the plot, and sometimes if I don't like the ending, I'm disappointed. As I said before, I wasn't completely disappointed by the ending, I knew everybody had to go back to war or else it could 'ruin' the series I guess.
This is the biggest, most critical "review" I've ever written on an episode, props if you read it all the way through.
If you don't like the direction SP's going in, quit watching. There's nothing we could do about it, unless you're producer or higher in the authority chain. And they won't listen to fan ideas. It's not worth your time to only hate.

Definately among the worst episodes. Boy, the guys were out of inspiration this week so, pointless free association took over along with rehash of old cliches. I can't imagine the writing ensemble was too thrilled working out this one. They must have come off of an extended weekend. An idea for next week... Mr. Hanky takes up residence in Mr. Slave's ass who finds the mummified remains of Paris Hilton and brings her to Mephesto so she can be resurrected a la frankenstein. She roams the city's streets of South Park as a zombie prostitute reinfecting the town with pink eye while the boys are experimenting in huffing the fumes of farts mixed with cat piss to endure watching th entire Chabad jewish telethon, followed by a flurry of sucides, self immolations and suicide bombers. Come on, we have to do better than this.

I must say every season has its own "GARBAGE EPISODE" and Ginger Cow is it for Season 17.

Where has this episode been the whole f*ckin season. That was GREAT!! :D

Favorite Parts: Butters Saying Kyle was Bused. Mackey's Speech of Translation to Jews, Mrs. B a Fat Stank, Breasts in Hell...Yummy Yummy Farts, Van Halen, Kyle as Ghandi :D ...Stan "ooooh". Cartman's Small penis joke!! Too many to mention!! :o

Negatives: The very beginning was a little weird, but it had to be I guess to lead into storyline. I also don't understand the Shaving Cream and cherry at the end, but whatever. I thought Mrs. Browfolski's blank stare was cool but I am STILL Waiting for WHAT WHAT WHAT?!!? I also didn't see the new Pope Francis, but this is all really knit picking. I think people wanted a "Part B" to this episode, or at least something more from Stan/Kenny...which I can partially relate to, that or the fact that the "Yummy Yummy" got old, but I've seen some gags get a LOT older quicker than this one did. So no complaints from me here.

Overall: Love how the story made fun of all the religions and of the end of the world that is really not coming. A fake ginger cow (while the 'ginger' part is getting slightly old) was genius. VERY funny episode....kept it going, and by far my favorite so far this season. :)

I think people are only upset with this episode because of Kyle/Cartman. They expected Cartman to be walked over by Kyle and for Cartman to be screwed, and kinda not the latter. But in this episode, there came a time and place where Kyle found the 'belief' that keeping the lie was a better thing to do for humanity's sake...not for Cartman's. That is why he was being such a 'dick' and he was also a Martyr (See Ghandi). It might have gone a little too far, but he had to suck it up and well he did :cartmanevil:

8.5/10
RTL: I love being a dick to people for no reason. It makes me feel better about how my mom smacks me around with a frozen T Bone steak.

Kyle is no effin' martyr. He is just as big a sucker of Fartman's yummy carts as every other resident of South Park. He was probably enjoying it all along. Remember Stan asking him whether or not he should try them too? Why does no one other than Stan seem to be really shocked by Kyle's unexplainable addiction? Because Stan was the only person in town who didn't "try" them back in "Assburgers"! He was too drunk to give a sh*t at the time, while everyone around him, including Kyle, was getting addicted to the so-called secret ingredient. They are all in it together, except for Stan. Fartsuckers!

And though the yummy-yummy runner wasn't all that funny-funny, what happened to Kyle at the end was absolutely deserved. Serves him right for being such a self-righteous fart-sucking Gandhi wannabe.

Pretty good episode, but the whole Kyle becoming a martyr seemed too reminiscent of both Margaritaville and the whole "Stan Ground" thing combined.

Yeah, precisely. And let's not forget "I'm a Little Bit Country," especially Cartman's appearance on the stage and what it led to. Deja vu is unfortunately le dernier cri this season. :(

In case anyone was wondering, the real red heifer thing is that it would be necessary for a red coated cow born in the land of Israel to be burned to ashes and for those ashes to be used in a purification ritual to make those who would participate in temple service ritually pure in order for the Jerusalem sacrificial system to resume.

Stop substituting periods with commas. How old are you? Six?

Like many other fans, I have enough "vested interest" because I watched the show from the very beginning, when I think it was at its prime. It's subsequently been a huge part of my life, largely from continuing to watch it. It started when I was in sixth grade and I'm almost done with college.

Having an account on here doesn't mean we like each and every new episode. I find many of the new ones to be rather dull; almost as dull as you. If your sole purpose of creating an account was to vent, you're no better off than the people you're making a pathetic attempt at ridiculing.

And, I'm sorry, only 13-year-olds and Americans like these newer episodes? I don't know where the fuck you're from, but America has made more higher-quality television shows than whatever nation is unfortunate enough to have you call it "home." So if you plan on ridiculing us, we've been given the privilege of doing the same to you by default. What are you, anyway? British? Brush your teeth, learn to cook, and if you don't like the show, turn the telly off and go play cricket outside.

This episode was worth it alone for the Ginger Cow artwork. Where else are you going to get such well done artwork of a Ginger Cow? Search the net, you'll come up pretty dry for sure!

But Kyle or Stan just had to remark about the eyeglasses. Something like:

Stan: And the cow is near-sighted too, Cartman?
Cartman: Yes, Stan. Everyone knows that Gingers have weaker eyesight.

I liked the "Jewish" language translation bit. And the idea about a "true miracle" Ginger Cow invalidating the prophecy is pure genius. Real miracles are of no value if they don't match the religious texts?

But this episode will have a low re-watchability value for me purely because of the fart eating nonsense. It would have held up for one bit, but it was just too much. They had a chance for Cartman to have real leverage over Kyle, but they should have made many different bits - it was just too fart heavy.

I disagree with others here that Cartman should be reigned in. He is the only one who relishes in pushing everyone around, and he it is pure joy for him.

On a technical note, I'm sad that the HD version in the episode player has encoding defects at 15.5 seconds.

Same review as last week's episode:

I watched it on the episode player. At least I tried to. The beginning was funny. Big-Will got it 100% correct in the pre-air thread with the red heifer :D

Then the show's plot takes place in the usual meeting place - the Airport Hilton. And then like last week, the video freezes and the audio continues. Another audio only podcast of an episode.

I'll have to see this episode later as I did last week's. Rrrrrrr...... ;)

Note to nall: Season 17 is in full production; this is not a lull between seasons. Please look into the problems with the new episodes not playing on the SPS episode player. Thx!

@ BrothaGoose: Glad you made an account. Welcome to the board. I think you'll enjoy it here, now that you have an account which means that you can post in threads :)
