Are any characters native American? Stan might be a native American. His last name is Marsh. His family might be native American. Marsh is a swamp so that makes sense. I'm not sure what Stan's background is, but that's just my opinion.

You can read this: (it's from an ad for family name etymology, family crests, etc):

http://www.houseofnames.com/marsh-family-crest

Excerpt from above link wrote:
Where did the English Marsh family come from? What is the English Marsh family crest and coat of arms? When did the Marsh family first arrive in the United Stated? Where did the various bran he's of the family go? What is the Marsh family history?

The vast movement of people that followed the Norman Conquest of England of 1066 brought the Marsh family name to the British Isles. They lived on the border between two territories, such as the Marches between England and Wales or on the English Scottish borders. The name may also have emerged as a nickname for someone born in the month of March.

Note that the above blurb doesn't mention anything of an association of the name "Marsh" with "Native Americans"; it limits itself to the English "Marshes." I supposed the name could be associated with anyplace that contains marshy areas.

Well, Chief Running Water from Season One's #113 - Cartman's Mom is a Dirty Slut is a Native American, and there are many Native Americans In Season 7's #707 - Red Man's Greed including Chief Runs with Premise, Premise Running Thin, and Manymoons (the comic in the lounge at the Three Bears Casino).

So that's how Marsh came about. I didn't know that.

I thought Stan's surname had something to do with Native Americans. Not really true.

He was replying to another post. This guy has quoted completely random posts when he replies, I'm not sure if he understands how it works.

Isn't Marsh the english word for Marshes? If he was a native American wouldn't he have a name like one of the place names in the mid west that are named after old injun sh*t?

Stan doesn't seem to have been established as native.

I don't think it's necissarilly the meaning ZZ gave, there might be several reasons for the name but it'd be named after marshes i guess.
AND BY THE WAY, I WIN
