Many years ago I saw part of an episode where the boys join a cult, and they all shaved their heads. Only Cartman looked different, and I remember him saying "Hey guys, guess who I am." But I have watched every episode of South Park I can find, and I cannot find it. Is this ringing a bell with anybody?

No, he initially did join. Remember the exchange between him and Kyle at the compound when Stan is saying they should leave and Kyle doesn't want to and then Stan starts saying he doesn't want to and has to put on his hat to remember which one of them he is?

That was "Super Best Friends" Its where they find David Blaine and join his cult. And Stan calls the Super Best Friends which is a group of all of the profits from religions which try to save Kyle, Cartman and Kenny from being in the cult
