Scientology redux? PostWed Feb 13, 2008 3:16 am Offline

Scientology has lately been in the news quite a bit again. They're up against a powerful new enemy -- the internet.

The Tom Cruise video was funny, but what came next was hysterical. The youtube "Anonymous" video was followed by ddos attacks on scientology websites; virtually every scientology website (and they have separate sites for different regions) were crashed for various periods of time.

And for those of you who may have missed it due to scant media coverage, last Sunday, February 10, thousands of people took to the streets in dozens of cities around the world in an internet-choreographed protest against the brutality and greed of the Cult of Scientology.

Future events are planned, with the major objective of convincing the IRS to repeal the Cult's tax exempt status. They should never have been awarded this status in the first place, it was no doubt aided by documents that the Church of Scientology stole from the IRS during their break-in -- see "Operation Snow White"

At the end of the last Scientology episode, at which Stan challenged Tom Cruise to sue him, I always expected that such an episode deserved a sequel. Hopefully the current events inspire some plot ideas. This is really just a generic episode idea.

Love the show.

You really have something there! Like, in the end Tom Cruise and the scientology boys and gals say they're going to sue Stan. Well, what if in the new episode the church runs out of money because they have to pay back all the money they stole [or whatever], and to make it back on track they sue Stan for 10 billion dollars or something? And in England, like Tom Cruise threatened. That would be hilarious, and it would be a chance to poke fun at scientology and at other celebrities who belong to this self-proclaimed church... thing.

Man, this idea was five months old and dead.XD

Anywho, enough with Scientology. Seriously. South Park has said it's piece and it's over. Small shots at Scientology is fine, but if there is another episode dealing with it I think it'd have a high probability of tanking.

Too true, who cares about $cientology, they need to tackle Bhudism now, or hinduism, they're so untouched so far, kill all that eastern mystery, the hippies must feel the fury of sp wven if trey does love his bhuddha :p

No need to redoo a masterpiece, eh? And yeah, why build a SCIENTOLOGY accademy when you're not a scientologist?
