cartman says to kyle 'your blood has been tainted with the three j's: jewish jersey and jinger' only "jinger" (i thought) was spelled 'ginger' with 'g'. I can think of two alternative explanation; (1) cartman is so stupid he doesn't know how to spell the word (hence it's not a blooper). (2) poetic/creative license warrants the grammatical imprecision. -- what do you guys/gals think?

Or "A Ladder To Heaven"?

Edit: I think one of the Dugger clan is named Jinger, and it's pronounced "Ginger".

Thanks for the replies! Yeah I checked out the Monkey Phonics episode (good call), and I think I'm comfortable with the idea that the three j's were planned incompetence, rather than a blooper.

I do still think that it's a bit strange that none of the other characters (especially kyle, who is a good speller and had motive to respond) called cartman out on his mistake. I guess you could say that such a remark/retort wouldn't really fit with the comedic flow of the situation (something I would agree with), nevertheless it seemed a bit awkward the error was just passed over without recognition.

thanks again!

Well why bother wasting breath on correcting a gramatical error, when there's so many more glaring things wrong with his statement?

There are these things called jokes...
"If a tree falls in the forest and there's no one there to hear it, my illegal logging business succeeds ."

"I have only two modes, at war with something, or having sex with it. There is no middle ground"

"Well why bother wasting breath on correcting a gramatical error, when there's so many more glaring things wrong with his statement?" -- great point. I think you're right (100%)

"There are these things called jokes...", for sure! I laughed. It's still fun to think about anyway, especially if it strikes you as odd, as it did me (hence enhancing overall enjoyment of the screening). but yeah, your general point 'just laugh, don't take it so seriously and analyze it to pieces' is well taken :)

And some letters in some words have a hard sound, and other words have a soft sound. "g" in gem is a soft sound; "g" in "grammar" is a hard sound.

jew
ginger
Jersey

All three words, two with a "j" and one with a "g" all have the SAME soft sound as if their first letter is also the same - but it's not.

jew, ginger, Jersey all sound alike for the first letter, even though they are different letters of the alphabet. imo that's why Trey wrote it that way.

@zzyxz1 yeah I agree, I think the similar sounding words was the reason for cartman's mistake, and that matt and trey wrote it with that in mind.

it's just a subtle joke. Cartman is just too stupid and can't spell anything other than "food".

Don't forget the line in BLU:

Mr. Garrison: Eric! Did you just use the 'F' word?!
Cartman: "Jew?"

Not sure if this has been pointed out but in Fatbeard Cartman says "Who let the G-I-N-G-E-R in here."
When they are having their first pirate meeting. Which means he knows it starts with a G. so That's an error he stated that it started with a J in this episode.
