First of all, the one on eBay has been on there forever. It may be rare, but the only factor determining what something is worth is what any one person will pay for it. The length of time it's been for sale on eBay indicates it's not worth $300 to anybody. I'm really surprised the seller hasn't gotten a clue and lowered the price by at least $20.00. If something is rare and valuable enough, people will spend a little more than what they think it's "worth" just to get it.

Secondly, if I see another one for sale for much less, or for trade, it doesn't mean I'm getting ripped off. Not everybody knows what their stuff is worth, and a lot of people don't care to find out. My ex-girlfriend gave me a goth Stan plush when we were still dating, but when we broke up, I didn't want to see it again, so I threw it out. That was before I found out they were somewhat rare due to only being sold exclusively at a single retailer.

I will tell you right now that there are no "fake" Scuzzlebutt plushes out there; at least none that aren't incredibly obvious. So as far as getting "ripped off", the only thing that would determine that is price. If you're okay with the price you're paying, you're not getting "ripped off".
