Hello boggers in blogger world. PA Steve here with your weekly helping of South Park. Last week "Pandemic 2: The Startling" aired and I wanted to introduce you to the stars of the show. I would have never guessed that early in my career at South Park, I would be a part of a rare and amazing live action extravaganza. We had some very big, important stars come in and read for the monster Guinea Pig roles but we ended up going all out and getting the real thing. Enter Radcliff, Shaymus, Guinevere and Titan who were flown in from Papa New Guinea, (ironic? I think so). Each star, in his or her own right, proved to be a bit demanding. Aside from talking back to Matt and Trey and pooping on the carpet, Guinevere demanded fresh carrots cut into cubes every hour on the hour. Titan requested 14 bottles of Jack Daniels, a poster of Miley Cyrus, and a private screening of High School Musical III. Radcliff was easy going as long as he was watching rerun episodes of Steven Bochco’s 1990 mega flop Cop Rock but, Shaymus refused to work unless he could see or hear a football game. When it came for Lights! Camera! Action!, they were breathtaking. Their brilliant performance, whether they were nibbling or slowly walking, is what made the "Pandemic" episodes so special. Pictures below will put names to furry faces and give you an idea of how we made "Pandemic" and "Pandemic 2" possible.

Yes, i have to agree, South Park's 10th, 11th and 12th seasons have been eccelent in every way. These two eppisodes were also very original and incredibly realistic in terms of what recordings of disasters usually look like, i can see a lot of thaught and work has gone into them. Although some production staff members will be satisfied with praises on their work, the best thing i can think of saying was that it was an enjoyment to watch it.

I do think it's time for another deep-thinking melodramatic eppisode with a sad ending tho, there haven't been any of those for a few seasons. The last one that i can see was Stanley's cup.

Dear Steve,
Thank you for the brilliant post. It's easy to lose sight of the person (or guinea pig) behind the glitter and glow of stardom. The keen observations and disarming yet sensitive photos rank right up there with an episode of Sundance's Iconoclasts in their ability to communicate the deeper essence of "celebrity. " Bravo.

Too... cute... brain... swelling... AAAAAGGHHHH!

wow they are the cutest guinea pigs I ever seen!! it should have been really interesting to work with them, they are superstars now, hehe, that was a really great entry Steve ='D!

Y'know - when you can actually SEE guinea pig, green screen (where did the hell did 'blue' screen, eh, go - is it like Catholic limbo??) pics of this great event - who the hell cares about a change in the White House???

The end of the episode is what did it for me-- Shaymus is just lying on his back-- I've never seen a guinea pig do that ever.

Or when one of the guinea pigs ripped off the arm of some guy and was eating it-- scary but cute.

Now how much money did you pay the kid that let you borrow you his guinea pigs? :-p

The Guinea Pigs dressed up in costumes was so funny, milk shot out of my nose. And I wasn't even drinking milk.

If saying it is milk soothes yourself...

Next time, get some unknown guinea pigs. They'll practically whore themselves out for stardom.

Rumor has it that the Taco Bell Chihuahua was uber demanding, and a bit unstable. I heard he got half of his money up-front in cash and blew it all in one night at 7-11 on junk food and porn.

It's amazing that PETA didn't object to you putting the guinea pigs into little costumes.
